The Story of the Plus: human knowledge working in a technology forward workplace
What a blast with Stan and a good sturdy group of knowledge management people. My tribe!
My central argument was that we look in the wrong place if we look at humans, or ai, human agents, or ai agents separately. It is the + that matters.
I have taken some of the chat, and something that got me reacting quite strongly on LinkedIn, and rearranged the slides a bit to bottle some of the magic of our time together.
I am sure there is more to note after a few more walks and pond dipping (thanks to Ana Neves for the idea of soaking in knowledge, both soaking it in and having a good long soak).
What I was most delighted about, though, was this:
I haven’t seen a self-made slide deck in quite a while (except yours, Victoria); everyone I work with gives Copilot an idea, then the AI creates everything for them. All these presentations end up having generic content (it isn’t as targeted as a self-made deck historically has been).
And, of course, the question of Luddites in the age of AI came up. This article from the New York Times challenges our default perspective by reminding us that Luddites stood not against technology per se, but for the rights of workers in the face of automation.
